WHY WAVES HUNTER SURF HOUSE IS THE BEST SURF CAMP IN AGADIR AND ANZA

We could tell you ourselves, but we asked someone who has stayed at surf camps all over the world. World bodyboard champion Armide Soliveres spent time with us in Anza. Here is what he told us, and what makes Waves Hunter different.

THE INTERVIEW

A WORLD BODYBOARD CHAMPION AT WAVES HUNTER

Armide Soliveres has surfed and stayed at surf camps in many parts of the world. In this interview, filmed at the surf house, he shares his experience with us in Anza.

  • “Honestly, it's an incredible place where you can learn so much. The coaches are really good.”
  • “The lady of the house prepares incredible meals, homemade and Moroccan.”
  • “From the bottom of my heart, Waves Hunter Surf House is a wonderful place. I highly recommend it.”

1. COACHING

COACHES WHO MAKE YOU PROGRESS

The first thing Armide talks about is the coaching: “They teach us how to surf from the very beginning to more advanced levels, without any rush. They teach us really well.”

That is exactly how our Surf Camp works. Our local, certified instructors know every spot on this coast, and we drive you every day to the one with the best waves for your level: Anza, Banana Point, Devil’s Rock, Crocodile Beach, Tamraght, Taghazout and, when conditions are right, Imsouane. Board, wetsuit and all the gear are included.

Video analysis after dinner

On selected days the coaches film your session. In the evening, back at the house, they play the videos and go through them with you. Armide’s favourite moment: “It's a really fun moment. You laugh a lot, and you also learn a lot about your surfing. They show you in the video everything you need to improve.” Step by step, video by video, you keep learning.

2. ROOMS

CLEAN, COMFORTABLE ROOMS TO REST

After long days in the water, rest is essential. “Honestly, the rooms are quite comfortable. They're clean, they have plenty of space, and you feel really good when it's time to rest.”

Choose a shared dorm or a private room, from €12 per night. Bed linen and shower towels are included, the house has fast WiFi and a rooftop terrace for sunsets, and Anza beach is a 4-minute walk away. See all our rooms and dorms.

3. FOOD

HOMEMADE MOROCCAN FOOD BY LA MAMA

Ask any guest about Waves Hunter and they will mention the food. Armide too: “The lady of the house prepares incredible meals, homemade and Moroccan. Especially at breakfast, we just can't wait to get back and eat. Healthy food, a great atmosphere, an amazing cook.”

La Mama cooks fresh Moroccan dishes every day. In the Surf Camp, breakfast, a packed lunch at the beach and dinner are included, so after surfing all you have to do is sit down at the table with everyone.

4. LOCATION

WHY ANZA?

“There's so much space, they have incredibly long beaches where you can explore and check out every surf spot in the best conditions. And you have locals who can take you anywhere.”

Anza sits right between Agadir and the surf villages. Banana Point and Devil’s Rock are about 10 minutes away by car, Taghazout about 15, and Agadir airport about 35. You stay in a real Moroccan fishing village, with the city, the souk and the marina close by. All the details are in our guide to distances from Anza and our comparison Anza vs Taghazout.

5. PEOPLE

MORE THAN WAVES

For Armide, the best part of a surf camp is the community: “It allows us to build a strong community and helps us connect with people. We learn to surf, we learn about new countries.”

And what do people take away from Waves Hunter? “Incredible memories, new friendships, a unique experience, and the feeling that you've truly learned to surf.” His message for anyone who wants to surf in Morocco and doesn’t know where to stay: “Here it is: Waves Hunter Surf House.”
