HOW TO READ THE SURF REPORT
- Swell is the energy coming from far out in the Atlantic. Around 0.5–1.2 m is perfect for beginners; 1.5 m and more wakes up the famous points like Anchor Point.
- Period is the time between waves. Over 10 seconds means powerful, well-organised waves; under 8 seconds they are softer and choppier.
- Wind: on this coast, wind from the east (offshore) makes clean waves; wind from the west (onshore) makes them messy. Mornings are usually the cleanest.
- Water temperature tells you which wetsuit to wear – all included in our Surf Camp.
