THE BASICS

WHAT IS A SURF CAMP IN AGADIR?

A surf camp is a surf holiday where accommodation, food, coaching, equipment and transport to the waves are organised for you. On the Agadir coast – the stretch between Agadir, Anza, Tamraght and Taghazout – surf camps are the most popular way to learn and improve, because the region offers:

  • Waves all year round, with consistent Atlantic swell and around 300 days of sunshine
  • Gentle beach breaks for beginners and world-class right-hand points like Anchor Point for experienced surfers
  • More than ten spots within a short drive, so there is almost always somewhere working
  • Easy access from Agadir Al Massira airport, with direct flights from most European cities

At Waves Hunter Surf House in Anza we surf every day – surfing is not an add-on, it is the heart of every stay. See all the waves we surf on our surf page.

DAILY ROUTINE

A TYPICAL DAY AT OUR SURF CAMP

  • Morning: breakfast at the surf house, then our coaches check swell, wind and tide and choose the best spot of the day.
  • Surf session: about 2 hours of coaching in small groups – theory and safety on the beach, then practice in the water with your coach.
  • Afternoon: rest, explore Anza and Agadir, or book an activity such as the Paradise Valley trip, sandboarding or yoga.
  • Evening: sunset on our sea-view rooftop and a homemade dinner with the surf crew – and tomorrow, you surf again.

We also film your sessions and review the video with you, so you see exactly what to improve next time.

SMART CHOICE

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT SURF CAMP IN AGADIR

There are many surf camps between Agadir and Taghazout. Before you book, check:

  • Location: is the camp central, so you can reach both beginner beaches and the famous points? Anza is 10–25 minutes from all the main spots.
  • Group size and coaches: small groups with local coaches who know every spot mean more waves and more progress.
  • What is really included: board, wetsuit, transport, meals and video analysis should not be hidden extras.
  • Surf every day: ask how many sessions you actually get – we go out every single day.
  • Atmosphere: party town or authentic village? Read our comparison Anza vs Taghazout.
  • Reviews: read recent guest reviews on Google and Booking.com.

We recommend at least 5–7 days. Most beginners stand up in the first sessions, and a full week gives you time to catch green waves and start turning.

There are waves all year. September to March brings the biggest swells, spring suits every level and summer has smaller, warmer waves that are perfect for beginners.
